Music of the Times, Sings of the Tragedy in the Gulf.

So often the music in any given generation will sing out about events of monumental importance.  This is one of those times!  Usually it will take an event of extreme proportion to elicit a large crop of music for that event.  The gulf crisis is such a   outrageous and enormous tragedy that it lends itself to a time of reflection and individual action.  People are driven in such cases as this to try in their own way to make a difference.  One big way has always been with the voice of song.  For voices to be carried out to the masses upon musical notes.

Deborah Levoy and AshEl Seasunz

I found this song on the Internet that really cried out to be heard and felt.  I am sure many of us can relate to its tone and feelings.  If we can feel within ourselves the depth of the tragedy, that is the first step to taking  action toward changing the world for the better.

We all can make a difference as voices united in a cause to change how we produce energy.  If we can’t see how important this energy change is to our environment now, when will we see it?  This is a huge wake up call.

Enjoy this music video and realize that we can each work towards change, by supporting bills, and looking at how we use energy at home.  It won’t happen over night, but it can happen.  It’s important to not get overwhelmed by thinking that we can’t get by without oil, but to take each step as we can.  We all have been raised living with this type of energy, so it will take time to make a switch.

First step is to see the importance of the need to make that switch.  We can see now that the oil industry has  been blindfolding us all to other possibilities.

Good of you to share this video. This kind of communication is effective. I’m going to share this with my friends too.

Hi Amila, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. The more conversation that is generated the better. The masses need to rise up. We all have at least the power of voice. Have a great day. : )

Music is one of the few things that appears to get through to the masses so lets hope millions view and hear this all important message. As for getting through to the decision makers in Washington, that could be another story. Until the old guard is booted out of Washington (with their life long perks of health insurance and retirement millions) we may see just enough change to shut up the masses but not enough to have any real lasting effect. We need people in Washington that actually have lived in the “real” world….they know and understand the need to change our wasteful energy ways. They have, and are willing to utilize, the resources to effectively and smoothly make the changes necessary to pull our planet out of the ecological death grip we’ve put it in. Soooo, keep the music coming in and vote the old fogies out!!

Yep, it is different as far as Washington goes. It takes a lot more to move them. They really are stuck! They really don’t live in the real world, for if they did, they wouldn’t make some of the disastrous choices that they make. That is for sure. Only hope is that the masses can put some sort of pressure on them up there in fantasy land. lol

Welcome and please add your thoughts, thanks. : )
